While investing in jewellery is a great idea right now, maintaining them is also a must. We asked our Director Mr. Naman Kala how to keep diamonds shining forever and save pearls from damage.

Here are few important tips he shared with us to keep the diamonds and precious gemstones shining forever.

Jewellery with diamonds and precious stones are delicate and need to be handled, and stored, carefully. “Jewellery with coloured stones like rubies, emeralds and yellow sapphires are delicate. They could develop cracks or fissures if not handled with care. And hence these need to be taken special care of,” says Naman Kala of Kalajee Jewellery Jaipur. According to him, they should be wrapped in muslin. Avoid wrapping them in cotton as the fibre from cotton might get stuck in the pieces.

Kundan and Polki jewellery is very prone to moisture. This moisture can cause damage to such jewellery, since the setting is very delicate and uses a lot of uncut diamonds. So, to keep them shining for longer, store your jewellery in a dry area. While cleaning, use warm non detergent-based soapy water and wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
